Normex Métal, a reference in the manufacture of wrought metals, is embarking on a major project: the extension of its premises. The aim? Modernize its image by completely transforming its entrance hall to give it a contemporary, welcoming look.
With this in mind, several offices have been integrated, providing the company with the space it needs to expand, while fostering a collaborative work dynamic. At the heart of the renovation, a central island harmoniously links all the spaces, stimulating exchange and creativity within the team.
To highlight the company’s expertise in working with steel, its flagship material, the project was inspired by its raw beauty and robustness. The concept takes shape through a Corten steel mesh, custom-made by Normex Métal’s craftsmen, which is integrated into the walls of the building. Symbolizing the team’s expertise, it offers visitors a secure immersion in the authentic atmosphere of the manufacturing workshop.
This project is a testament to the company’s enduring vision, which seeks to combine tradition and innovation to shape a future rooted in the northern landscape of Abitibi-Ouest.

Corten steel is more than just an ordinary material. Thanks to its unique alloy of copper and chromium particles, it develops a protective patina that sets it apart from its counterparts. This natural oxidation layer gives it a constantly evolving beauty, as it reacts dynamically to its environment. From soft orange hues to shades of burnt rust, to an elegant blackness over the decades, its character is forged with the passage of time, becoming a silent but striking witness to the cycles of nature and history.
